The Lower Left Ranch is an upcoming special event and an elevated ranch camping experience opening in late 2024.
We are currently building out and restoring this beautiful 100 year old ranch in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California.
Add your email address here and you'll be the first to know about our progress as we continue to build out the ranch. You will also be the first to know when we start taking reservations well before the general public.
This video documents the first phase of our Lower Left Ranch restoration project.
We've been busy building out the saloon, guest cabins, a giant bar, infrastructure upgrades, and everything needed to open up to visitors. While we finish the work and videos, we wanted to post a quick update.
We return to the Lower Left Ranch crew who faced some challenging weather related setbacks. But with motivation coming from an unexpected source, all turns out well and the project is on pace to get us open later this year.
With a small break in the weather, we take advantage to build a safety fence around pond #2 and plant some redwood trees before we move inside to upgrade our off grid electrical system and run a circuit to the saloon bar.
We have some friends visit from Southern California who help us finish the walls in the barn, finish the kitchen, we tame some giant blackberry bushes and we end the trip by burning down a dead 40 foot oak tree.
We get serious about safety with a professional first aid kit, that we promptly put to use. A new coffee bar is built out and we run power to the area for commercial coffee makers and to connect the cabins to the main power grid. We install lighting under the bar and assemble a truly unique bar face using local rocks and cut oak cookies - hence the title, "C" is for cookie, and that's good enough for me.
It's been a long summer of waiting for county approvals but while we wait for some larger projects to progress, we take the time to install 5kW of solar to help power the ranch. A family member visits from the east coast to help get the project done in a weekend.
We get the ranch ready for our first international visitors. We get more electrical and landscape lights, do some painting in the barn and setup one of the cabins for our guests to stay in.
We finish the long awaited barn saloon bar. We used rocks and oak harvested from the ranch and we milled our own redwood slab to make the live edge bar top.
See how a working cattle ranch runs. Visit the cows as they free graze on our over 900 acres of grasslands.
Fish in one of our many ponds. Fish in various ponds range from small species like Bluegill for the kids to catch all the way to large Bass in our "big pond".
With over 15 miles of trails to enjoy, our paths are easy to follow but will leave you breathless from the exercise and the views.
Ready to swing for the fences? Our newly built "Bigly Field" is up for the challenge.
Hop on an e-bike and hit the trails. The quiet ride makes sighting wildlife easier than ever.
Use your GPS and navigation skills to find our hidden treasures.
From s'mores and movie night, we've got the kids covered.
Fully furnished cabins all with amazing views and easy access to all facilities.

The ranch has working bathrooms, showers, potable water, electricity, a kitchen with mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave and ice machine, multiple camping cabins, BBQs and stoves, outdoor sinks, communication radios and multiple first aid kits.
You don't really need anything - we provide it all. Your cabin will have a small fridge but it's recommended you bring a cooler for any larger items you wish to keep cold. We have ice available.
Absolutely! We do not currently have any hookups or places to dump waste. You can have as much water as you need though!
The ranch has sections that are very remote and have many wild animals living there including deer, boar, mountain lions and rattlesnakes. That said, in over 25 years of operating the ranch there have been no incidents of any harm to people. The main camp area is fenced in at night and the gates are closed for added piece of mind.
Dogs are allowed at the ranch but must be on a leash at all times. This area has many snakes and trails that lead to barbed wire and the last thing we want is your pooch getting hurt. Please let management know if you are bringing a dog.
